**About The Role** As an advocate of Safety at Uber, you will have the opportunity to identify and launch programs that help ensure a safe experience for Consumers, but especially our Drivers and Delivery Drivers, across our global marketplace and various product offerings. We are seeking an analytically minded self-starter to join Uber’s Global Safety team to focus on ensuring customers who take trips or order food/schedule deliveries adhere to safety policies and community guidelines. The team leads the development of Uber’s global safety programs and standards and is looking for someone to lead launches of policies and processes to reduce the impact of risky consumers. This role calls for a combination of deep operational skills to get great work done, the innovation and creative thinking that's required to challenge the status quo, and the emotional intelligence required to come to a consensus with a team of cross-functional and global stakeholders. You should be comfortable in an "all hands on deck" environment, love solving problems, thrive in a hyper-growth culture, and above all be passionate about the safety of people and the cities in which we operate. Working with teams across the globe, you'll need excellent stakeholder management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to clearly communicate and present information to seek buy-in in a fast-changing environment **What You’ll Do** - **Leadership and Influence:** Become the subject matter expert for our Uber Riders Accountability from start to finish - defining the problem space and risk profile. Engage and influence stakeholders at every level of the organization to pursue common goals of making the platform safer - **Policy Development:** Develop robust safety policies and procedures across our Mobility and Delivery lines of business, ensuring alignment among stakeholders with diverse interests - **Problem Solving:** Proactively identify and address emerging issues, using a data-driven approach for issue identification, root cause analysis, and understanding of safety controls performance. Measure the impact of these issues to prioritize and advocate for cross-functional resourcing of scalable solutions - **Collaborate to Solve Problems:** Maintain regular communication with senior leaders to update them on emerging safety issues and ensure that mitigation strategies are appropriately prioritized and resourced. Work collaboratively across various teams at Uber, including Product, Data Science, Safety Support, and Legal, to devise effective safety solutions - **Communication:** Craft and convey clear and persuasive narratives from complex data and analyses to influence high-level discussions. Partner with Communications and Marketing teams to increase awareness among drivers of our safety controls **Basic Qualifications** - A minimum of 4 years of experience in Program / Project management, Operations and or Consulting - Basic SQL and Excel knowledge - Bachelors degree obtained **Preferred Qualifications** - Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success in uncovering data to inform risk-mitigating and customer-oriented decisions - Experience with AI-generated insights is preferred - Experience with Safety Support and or Driver Ops (within the Tech industry) - Ability to design processes in a fast paced environment without a prescribed template - Ability to drive consensus and actionable results across highly cross-functional teams - Strong program and project management skills with focus on KPI setting and tracking - Excellent written and oral communication skills; Influential with great presentation skills and the ability to tell clear, compelling stories out of complex issues and analysis - Experience managing cross-functional projects and stakeholders - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects under competing pressures - Must be a flexible self-starter who is comfortable with rapid changes and a fast-paced environment - Passion for Safety as it relates to all parties interacting with the Uber platform - MBA or Master's degree a plus - Global work experience a plus For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$116,000 per year - USD$128,500 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
