## **About the role:** As a Senior Software Engineer , you'll collaborate with applied scientists to implement AI-powered security solutions at scale. Working at the intersection of AI , security and privacy, you'll build production systems across our three strategic focus areas( Secure with AI, Secure AI and secure against AI). You'll play a key role in transforming research into robust, deployable solutions that address complex security and privacy challenges across Uber's global infrastructure ## **About the Team:** Uber's EngSec  AI/ML center of excellence: . Our mission is transforming security and privacy through AI innovation, focusing on three critical areas: using AI to strengthen security capabilities, building secure-by-design AI systems, and protecting against emerging AI-based threats. We're developing the next generation of security and privacy platforms that leverage and defend against cutting-edge AI to protect Uber's ecosystem ## **Minimum qualifications:** - PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field **OR** 5-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, **WHICH INCLUDES** 2-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas: - Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go) - _Note the 2-years total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these).  The years of specialized experience are not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated._ **Bonus Qualifications** - Experience integrating ML/AI systems into production environments - Knowledge of AI security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies - Familiarity with adversarial machine learning concepts - Familiarity with prompt engineering and LLM security Uber is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
