Senior Operations Manager, Uber Japan Financial Strategy

**About the Role**
This is a high-impact strategy and business operations role to shape and grow Uber’s financial services business in APAC tied to our global strategy to provide access to affordable financial services tailored to the gig economy.
You will report into the Head of Financial Business Group, APAC and will join a geographically diverse team to design and operationalise and scale financial constructs in the region.
**What the Candidate Will Do**
1. Support in the review and prioritisation of financial product growth bets across APAC by conducting market and competitive research to help shape our team's three year strategy.
2. Own all aspects of building new and varied financial products across APAC and be the main PoC from the team for Japan and South Korea including but not limited to business case building through discovery conversations, voice of customer surveys with earners, cost planning and forecasting, RFP issuance and governance, marketing and feedback loop and post launch governance.
3. Conduct analysis of product, program and partnership performance with cross-functional stakeholders internally and externally. Leverage data to help steer business decisions.
4. Report and analyse variances between actuals, forecast, and plan and build/discuss potential action plans with cross-functional stakeholders and the leadership.
**Basic Qualifications**
01. Fluent in **Japanese** and **English**. Korean is a plus but not mandatory.
02. Based in Tokyo with flexibility to travel when required across geographies.
03. 6+ years experience within banking, e-commerce and/or consulting in strategy, analytics or operations.
04. Strong merchant and/or issuing experience within the payments and financial products with deep knowledge on how the industry works across APAC but especially in Japan and South Korea.
05. Learning team oriented and collaborative, with exceptional consensus building and team management skills.
06. Demonstrated ability to assess business needs, identify solutions and strong analytical skills to model customer adoption and usage, assess financial and business impact on the strategic initiatives.
07. Must possess exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively at multiple levels and across disciplines internally and externally.
08. Strong critical thinking, organizational and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment whilst working with cross-functional stakeholders.
09. Strong change management skills, adept at working in an environment of shifting priorities, constant technological changes and increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.
10. Being able to solve issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic, common sense and data. Identifying the root cause of a problem as opposed to focusing on the symptoms.
**Preferred Qualifications**
1. SQL knowledge preferred.
