**What You Will Do:**
**Build and Optimize Scalable Data Systems**
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models.
- Ensure data assets are reliable, scalable, and tailored to business and product needs.
- Troubleshoot and optimize data workflows for performance and reliability.
- Document systems clearly and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
**Champion Data Quality and Collaboration**
- Implement and advocate for best practices in data quality, security, and governance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data science, engineering, and analytics, to improve data accessibility and usability.
- Align data initiatives with business goals and foster trust in organizational data.
**Develop Insights through analysis and Drive Strategic Impact**
- Develop tools, dashboards, and frameworks to scale insight generation and meet critical business needs.
- Proactively design data solutions that address future challenges and drive decision-making.
- Independently drive technical deep dives and product insights to influence roadmap
\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----
- 2+ years of full-time engineering experience
- Proficient in SQL and a data engineering language (e.g., Python, Scala).
- Experience with scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Strong knowledge of relational and columnar databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift), and familiar with ETL frameworks (e.g., Airflow) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Proven ability to implement data quality, governance, and security best practices.
\-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ----
- 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or related role
- Strong ownership and curiosity to identify, diagnose, and resolve data issues, while elevating data quality and modeling practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data challenges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating successfully with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong data intuition and analytical acumen to drive meaningful insights.
- Ability to translate complex business and analytical needs into scalable data models.
- Proven ability to influence technology and architectural decisions in large organizations.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year.
For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
