Business Intelligence Engineer, Amazon GEIST

Amazon Global Engineering Insights & Software Tools (GEIST) is looking for a customer-obsessed Business Intelligence Engineer to join the team. Having actionable analytics is part of our culture and we insist on timely, accurate, scalable and actionable business intelligence. This role will be part of the Global Engineering Services team & collaborates closely with multiple business teams. A successful candidate should be able to cope with a fast pace environment, work on multiple deliverables and in parallel, be comfortable with prioritizing efficiently and communicating progress and blockers in an effective manner.

Responsibilities include:

- Design, develop and maintain optimized solutions that meet reporting or process improvement needs.
- Manage a portfolio of solutions, work with multiple stakeholders and effectively communicate progress and blockers with the project team and sponsors.
- Design and own processes that are customer centric and will improve operational efficiency.
- Identify high impact business problems and collect requirements for solution development.
- Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) jobs, visualization dashboards and tools that support processes.
- Develop optimized scripts and visualizations that are fast and easy to comprehend.
- Adopt existing best practices or contribute to improving them; solution design, development, validation and documentation practices.
- Work on ad hoc and urgent requests on a timely manner.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in the data/BI space- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
