Senior DevOps Engineer

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll play an essential role in shaping our platform. Working with cutting-edge technologies, you’ll design and maintain high-performance applications hosted on AWS, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and resilient solutions. With a focus on continuous improvement, you’ll help build a robust infrastructure and drive efficiency across all processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Platform Development: Design, build, and optimize scalable, resilient applications on AWS.
• AWS Services: Configure and develop services, including API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, EC2, Firehose, RDS clusters, Redis clusters, WAF, CloudFront, and CodeDeploy, using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to implement innovative solutions.
• Coding and Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices.
• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and manage continuous integration and delivery pipelines with Git and Gradle.
• Database Management: Optimize data storage and retrieval using relational databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
• Code Reviews and Mentorship: Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers.
• Industry Awareness: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies to maintain a competitive platform.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years in DevOps engineering, with proven expertise in AWS services and microservices/cloud-based architecture.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient with AWS services and Terraform for IaC.
  • Expertise in version control with Git and build automation using Gradle.
  • Strong experience with both RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Agile Experience: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.
• Network Knowledge: Understanding of networking concepts (ICMP, SNMP, subnets, L2/L3 layers) is a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certifications: AWS Certifications, such as AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Additional Programming Skills: Familiarity with other programming languages and frameworks.
• Leadership: Prior experience mentoring and leading development teams.
