Senior Software Engineer - Networking

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable networking and cloud-based software systems. This hands-on role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of networking, system-level programming, and cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build robust, high-performance solutions that power IT infrastructure and security management for enterprises worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architect and develop scalable software systems with a focus on networking, cloud services, and system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement product features.
• Optimize Linux networking for large-scale, high-availability services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in software, networking, and cloud environments.
• Ensure high code quality and reliability through testing and continuous integration workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and best practices.
• Drive architectural decisions that enhance scalability, security, and performance.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Technical Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong backend and system development focus.
• Expertise in Linux systems, including networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, HTTP/HTTPS protocols), firewall configuration (netfilter, iptables, nftables), and network security (NGFW, Intrusion Detection, DNS filtering, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, PHP, Python, or similar.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with SQL database management and optimization.
• Proven track record of delivering scalable and reliable software solutions in production environments.

Bonus Points:

• Knowledge of SDN (Software-Defined Networks), NFV (Network Function Virtualization), or cloud-based firewall technologies.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and security tools.
• Passion for automation, scripting, and solving complex infrastructure problems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (or other cloud platforms) focusing on networking and security services.
• Familiarity with OpenWRT, FreeBSD, or other open-source networking platforms.
