**About the Role**
Uber Payments BV (UPBV) is Uber’s payments subsidiary in the EU, processing Uber’s payments in the EU (EEA) under an electronic money institution (EMI) license from the Dutch central bank. As a licensed financial institution, Uber Payments BV has stringent compliance obligations and this role is crucial for ensuring that these are met.
The UPBV Compliance Team is part of UPBV’s second line of defence and is responsible for setting and implementing a policy framework to ensure UPBV’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering, counter terrorism financing, sanctions screening, regulatory reporting and integrity risk requirements, as well as the overall the prevention of criminal acts in the financial space. The Compliance Team is supported by and supports initiatives of the larger Uber Group. Cooperation with UPBV’s first line of defence functions and several Uber Technology Inc (UTI) key teams are crucial to its success.being successful in the role.
As **Head of Compliance, Uber Payments BV**, you will be the management lead responsible for ensuring UPBV’s operations and procedures effectively meet applicable regulatory requirements. In this position you will manage the Integrity Risk policy framework (including Financial Crime) within UPBV, identify compliance risks associated with the business activities and follow up on remediation when required. You will report to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of UPBV.
**What You'll do**
01. Build strong relationships within UPBV and the broader Uber Group to create awareness of compliance risks and requirements, driving conformance with UPBV’s regulatory framework;
02. Lead, motivate and manage a team of Compliance professionals;
03. Own the 2nd Line of Defence compliance strategy, planning and execution of key oversight and governance activities;
04. Manage the Compliance program and policy framework for UPBV and ensure alignment with regulatory obligations and compliance to applicable regulatory requirements and guidelines
05. Provide guidance and support to various functions within UPBV and Uber in the design and implementation of products and processes critical to achieving business objectives, while ensuring overall compliance with regulatory requirements
06. Own and facilitate the integrity risk program for UPBV and delivery of the Systematic Integrity Risk Analysis (SIRA) program
07. Coordinate regular Compliance reporting to UPBV Management and Supervisory Boards (primarily the UPBV Risk and Compliance Forum and Risk Committee), broader Uber group management, as well as the Dutch Central Bank and other relevant stakeholders
08. Manage the Compliance training program for UPBV and build a strong compliance culture within UPBV and Uber relevant teams
09. Coordinate external and internal audits related to the Compliance domain
10. Participate in and/or lead (cross functional) projects
**What You'll Need**
1. 5+ years of experience with compliance, payments compliance and/or risk and compliance, with at least 2 years experience managing teams
2. Experience within the payments, financial technology and/or banking sector
3. Strong understanding of compliance concepts and experience with operationalising such in complex environments
4. Strong sense of ownership, accountability and entrepreneurial spirit
5. Strong teaching and mentoring skills, able to effectively grow people in their careers
6. Strong sense of integrity
7. Able to drive change and solution oriented
8. Great communicator, quick thinker and confident in decision making
9. Enthusiastic, self-starting and thrives in changing, agile environments
**Bonus Points If**
1. Experience in a regulated payments organisation
2. Experience interacting with financial regulators
