In Finance, we work hand-in-hand with leaders across the company to ensure smooth, disciplined execution of strategic business objectives. Our Strategic Finance team provides comprehensive financial insight into the business through regional and functional business partnering, forecasting and budgets, and pricing and incentives.
**About the Role**
You will join the Strategic Initiatives team within the Strategic Finance function; a recently formed central and global finance team whose remit is to partner with the global Business Development and Corporate Development teams that are in charge of conceiving and negotiating world class partnerships and investments that help Uber achieve its key priorities and financial goals.
You will play a pivotal role in driving Uber’s growth strategy through M&A transactions and strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for performing financial analysis, deal modeling, due diligence, and supporting the execution of various transactions across both Uber’s Delivery and Mobility businesses. In this role you will also be involved in the taskforce equipped with advancing Uber’s autonomous vehicles (AV) strategy and work on initiatives and partnerships to expand our product portfolio to include AV in the cities we operate in worldwide. Naturally, complex financial modeling is at the core of your role and will help ensure Uber’s leadership can prioritize the right deals at the right terms & conditions.
**What You’ll Do**
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate potential M&A opportunities, including revenue projections, valuation, and synergy analysis, in conjunction with other teams including Corporate Development, Business Development as well as regional Finance and Operations teams;
- Sophisticated financial modeling: Break complex business problems down into components, and build models from scratch as well as improve existing models
- Support the preparation of detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management covering proposed deals and partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, Operations, and Strategy to execute transaction processes effectively;
- Create, optimize and share various weekly and monthly reports with our stakeholder base to keep them informed about the progress we are making;
- Financial & Operational Planning and deal execution: Partner with company leaders to develop financial forecasts and operational goals associated with targeted deals and partnerships; see to it the company delivers on stated objectives.

- Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
**Basic Qualifications**
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS or other relevant subject
- 2+ years of proven experience
- Experience with Excel/Google Sheets
- Prior financial and/or analytical experience including FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or operations
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Outstanding analytical skills - standard methodologies are second nature, and your models are efficient, scalable, and intuitive
- Excellent communication and people skills - numbers are key, but a business is built with people
- Self-starter - you will take initiative, be dedicated, set and drive toward goals
- Ability to prioritize - we are consistently working on multiple projects at any given time, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and has the ability to optimally multitask

- Attention to detail and ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with enterprise-level financial planning systems, SQL, and/or statistical software package
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$106,000 per year - USD$118,000 per year.
