**About the Role**
As a Frontend Senior Software Engineer on the Customer Obsession team, you will architect highly-performant, reliable, scalable applications used by millions of external customers every day.
You will have an outstanding opportunity to build a premier and first of its kind support experience for our users. You will work closely with our internal stakeholders across all lines of business - Rides, Eats, etc - to build and provide capability with flexible automation solutions on top of the automation platform.
At Uber, we have a high bar for quality & efficiency - you will collaborate closely with Product Managers and Business Operations teams to build for scale, yet solutions focused on providing delightful customer experiences. The team is focused on high business impact, where every product we ship is measured and tracked with cost savings and/or efficiency improvement
**What You'll Do**
**User Focus**
1. Establishes best practices surrounding accessibility and security for the team.
2. Establishes and enforces standards for providing and implementing actionable feedback.
3. Prioritizes user experience improvements by identifying and refining UX opportunities and best practices within their team.
**Coding**
1. Leads efforts to improve the performance and web vitals of their team’s services.
2. Leads efforts to bring in new features and industry best practices into their team’s services focusing on increasing the efficiency and developer experience of their team.
3. Improves documentation beyond reference or API documentation with an eye on helping the consumer of the docs.
4. Leads and enforces standards and best practices for browser compatibility within their team.
**Scalability**
1. Builds component ecosystems to improve reliability, consistency, and reusability amongst your team.
2. Proactively identifies, builds and promotes shared components and modules between services to eliminate code duplication and promote UX consistency.
**Basic Qualifications**
1. BS or higher degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
2. Proficient in Javascript/Typescript, CSS, Node.js, FrontEnd framework. Has experience architecting, building, and maintaining web applications
**Preferred Qualifications**
1. 5+ years of software development experience
2. Strong problem-solving skills, with relevant experience in implementing large-scale distributed web applications with React.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience writing detailed technical documents.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
