Netflix is building the world’s leading entertainment platform, offering great films, series, live shows, and games that push the boundaries of storytelling and delight members of all ages and tastes across the world. We launch a high volume of titles regularly to meet the entertainment needs of our growing member base. The scale and quality at which we launch titles are paramount to our success in bringing these stories to the right audience at the right time. The Launch Management team ensures that we launch our portfolio of titles at the highest quality and in the most efficient way possible to maximize member joy. We are looking for a seasoned Launch Manager to join the Product Discovery & Promotion team based out of the Warsaw office helping launch and handle our exciting content from the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) markets to our members worldwide.
The role reports directly to the Director, Product Discovery & Promotion (DACH & CEE), who is based in Berlin, Germany.
The Launch Manager role is part of a larger Product Discovery and Promotion (PDP) team that will innovate approaches, develop scalable solutions, work with teams to drive promotional impact on the Netflix experience and drive excellence in every single one of our launches so that we can work smarter, increase efficiency and more importantly increase joy for our consumers on the Netflix platform.
This role is unique as its scope requires a deep understanding of our product behavior and a mindset that is equally precise on local execution as it is on strategic judgment calls. The Launch Manager’s role is to optimize the content and product strategy, and we do this via effective management of our highest impact areas, leading cross-functional and partner teams' alignment on a portfolio level, and being part of initiatives on innovating and productizing new product experiences. Thorough knowledge of local and vertical strategies, connecting business nuances with content and member experiences, and technical troubleshooting paired with strong partnership investment with local stakeholders will be critical to our success.
Portfolio Management: Own a portfolio of titles. While multiple teams (internal or external) get involved at different times along the launch journey for deliverables, you will be overseeing the quality of the launch as our operational throughline of the local Product Discovery & Promotion team.
Expert Advice: Be an expert of the Netflix product and advise our local stakeholders on means to improve how members interact with the titles on the Netflix platform.
Quality Assurance: Maintain the quality of the launch and mitigate risk to launch by being proactive, exercising sound judgment, and informing and influencing stakeholders.
Collaboration: Partner with internal and external teams and serve as the primary point of contact on strategic operational matters for the titles. Additionally, contribute to a thriving global Launch Management Community.
Process Evaluation: Constantly evaluate our workflows with the intention of improving our efficiency and effectiveness in launching titles.
Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot urgent issues cross-functionally and jump in operationally as needed, in service of the member experience.
This role is an individual contributor role but works closely with colleagues across our Product Creative, Metadata & Ratings, Globalization, Post-Production, and other teams.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in project/program management, ideally in a fast-moving Entertainment environment.
Analytical Mindset: Data-based impact and a bias towards solving for scale.
Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management skills (clear communication style and strong ability to influence) and a good team player.
Operational Passion: A passion for Operations and a thirst to do more with less, to work smarter, not harder.
Product Knowledge: Be well informed of the Netflix product experience.
Accountability: Happy to take accountability and drive initiatives.
Language Skills: Fluency in English and Polish is required.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills - written and verbal - in both English and Polish.
Balanced Thinking: A good balance of left and right-brain thinking - with the ability to understand the pulse of our consumers and put oneself in the consumers' shoes, an appreciation of content nuances and needs, and fluency to articulate product principles.
Cultural Fit: The ability to exemplify the Netflix culture and values.
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
