The Role

As an Art Lead at Next Games, you’ll work within a team of highly talented and motivated artists to create visually outstanding games on Netflix.

You should be a highly skilled artist, with an exceptional art portfolio, extensive experience in mobile gaming, and strong leadership skills. You thrive in creating high-quality visual design, and you lead, mentor, and manage other artists. You seek to find functional and highly polished workflows and pipelines to ensure a smooth art production cycle with a focus on cross-discipline collaboration
 

Responsibilities

• Owning the art in our top priority game and leading the artists in the same project

• Creating a strong visual identity for a game project by creating high-quality concept art, prototypes, and final game art assets throughout various stages of game development. 

• Actively looking for ways to design and create new high-quality visuals for games and you want to raise the bar of outstanding Game Art

• Managing your workload effectively and independently 

• Proactively improving the workflows and setting a high standard of artistic game development

• Creating and maintaining Art Bibles and Art Documentation.

• Working closely with the Art Director in both creating strong visual styles as well as fostering the company culture within the Art Discipline team

• Overseeing the work of up to 5 artists and mentoring other artists 

Skills and Experience

• Experience working with Adobe Suite / Illustrative software

• Experience working with with Unity or other similar game engine

• Strong concepting skills

• Strong 2D and or 3D asset creation skills

• Highly creative person with deep understanding of world-building, branding, and visual communication

• You can adapt easily and proactively to different software and tasks

• Strong, proactive communication skills, within discipline and cross-discipline

• Proactive self-direction with maintaining up-to-date knowledge of software and pipeline

• Self-motivated and directed, with a can-do attitude

Nice to have

• Experience working with tools such as Figma or similar prototyping tools

• Jira, Confluence, and other project management tools experience is a plus

You’ll be joining a new game team based in Helsinki. The team is small and agile and consists of a diverse group of industry professionals.
