The Netflix Archive is currently seeking a dedicated Archive Specialist who will be responsible for archival loans and incoming title acquisitions as our business expands. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of archival principles and practices, strong organizational and communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, as well as a passion for the entertainment industry.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate all aspects of archival loans with internal and external partners.
Curate, catalog, condition report, and pack archival assets to fulfill loan requests.
Maintain detailed records of all loan requests in collaboration with the Loans Coordinator.
Work with the Archive Manager to curate, appraise, process, and catalog incoming titles to the Archive Collection.
Update asset management systems and assist with data clean-up projects.
Assist team with space allocation projects.
Oversee the curation, set-up and strike of local displays and events.
Conduct research to authenticate and appraise assets.
Facilitate the purchasing of departmental and archival supplies as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge of proper archival practices and preservation procedures, with a focus on physical 3D objects and textiles.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a studio archive or similar institution.
Bachelor's degree in History, Archival Studies, Museum Studies, Film Studies or a related field. A Master's degree in Library and Information Science is a plus.
Ability to problem solve and manage various projects simultaneously and successfully.
Effective communicator, both oral and written.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with the entertainment industry.
Manual dexterity to handle delicate items with care and ability to lift 30 pound boxes.
Comfortable working in warehouse environments.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $200,000.
