This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in an emerging business at Amazon. Amazon is seeking a motivated Transportation Middle Mile Manager who will work across the organization to determine the scheduling needs, goals, and execution plans to develop and run our existing middle mile logistics network in Australia efficiently. This leader will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think strategically (while paying careful attention to detail), and enjoy working in an ever-growing, progressive and data-intensive operations environment. The ideal candidate will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable supporting both daily operational activities and large, complex and cross-functional projects. This person will have a curious mind-set, solid analytical abilities, as well as superior written and verbal communication skills.
This role can be performed from either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Key job responsibilities
- Plan and monitor local middle mile transportation routes based on volume.
- Scheduling weekly performance reporting.
- Coordinating timing and requirements with internal sites and stakeholders for scheduling.
- Own weekly scheduling from all the programs that are run through middle mile network.
- Work with planning and forecasting team get the scheduling inputs for the network.
- Create and report metrics actual vs planned.
- Regular transit time reviews on the lanes and adjust where needed.
- Set and review internal SLA and performance thresholds. - Bachelor degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, business analytics or other technical discipline.
- Experience in program or project management.
- Solid inter-personal and relationship-building skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to prepare, report and interpret large sets of data.
- Great communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in advanced MS Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.), SQL, and Tableau.- Experience in transportation and logistics industry in similar role
- Experience working on scheduling and process time management.
- Demonstrated experience within supply chain and logistics planning, forecasting, analytics and optimization.
- Experience leading projects and helping your team achieve goals
- Track record of taking ownership and driving results.
- Experience communicating with a diverse audience
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
