We are actively seeking an experienced PM with a strong background in planning and leading safety initiatives that align with long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive project management experience, combined with deep analytical capabilities and a keen sense of innovation, to lead complex projects from conception to completion. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive communication skills are essential. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in transforming visions into actionable plans and guiding those plans to fruition. In this role, you will be responsible for program strategies, including the development and execution of detailed project roadmaps. You will work closely with various internal teams and stakeholders, harmonizing different perspectives and ensuring cohesive efforts towards common goals.
Some travel may be required (no more than 25%).
Key job responsibilities
Manage full lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations
Development of the overall program strategy, tactically driving teams in and outside of your organization to deliver
Define the program (problem statement, end state vision, milestones, key performance indicators), set objectives, analyze data and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics
Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions
Partner with teams across the businesses you support and beyond to source, allocate, and coordinate resources
Partner with customers, internal/external teams, and engineering teams to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order
Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
Work with program managers, business leaders and executive team to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects
Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers
Create, communicate, and manage project budget

Drawing from field expertise, OpEx partners with cross-functional teams to resolve global challenges and proactively support 8,000+ WHS professionals. We partner with process owners to understand causal effects leading to defects, leverage process improvement tools and methodologies eliminating defects, improving efficiency, and driving change to optimize safety performance; creating a culture of safety excellence. - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated experience leading and owning cross-functional programs with tech and non-tech teams experience- 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques
- Practical application of program management methodology including PMP/Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
