The Governance & External Affairs (GEA) team within Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) is seeking a Program Manager (PM), to support the Worldwide Strategic Initiatives pillar. The PM selected for this role will assist in driving the team’s mission to identify, mitigate, and monitor systemic regulatory and procedural compliance. The selected candidate will accomplish the team’s mission through deep dive data analysis, investigative root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action identification, and identifying scalable mechanisms to track sustained programmatic success.
The Worldwide Strategic Initiatives team is looking for an organized, results-oriented team play who can work and communicated effectively within all levels of the organization. This role will serve as an independent contributor who will engage, collaborate, and partner with Amazon businesses across our worldwide operations, and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) in WHS and other functions (e.g., field operations, central teams, legal, data scientists, business intelligence engineers, etc.) to dive deep, understand root cause to identify corrective actions, and sustained conformance.
Key job responsibilities
- Key responsibilities include deep diving data to understand the root cause and to identify corrective and preventative actions with sustained conformance.
- Engage stakeholders to verify that the identified corrective and preventative actions are being sustained. Identify new actions if necessary.
- Develop Situation Reports, Digest Communications, Business Reviews, and/or Data Narratives.
- Create Purchase Orders and track spending.
- Develop communication plans for stakeholders and host office hours.
- Track weekly leading and lagging indicators of programmatic success.
A day in the life
- Daily SIM and Purchase Order review and approvals.
- Data Deep Dive Analysis of Leading and Lagging Indicators.
- Cross-departmental stakeholder communication updates and meetings.
- Hosting office hours for relevant stakeholders.
- Document development and tracking.

- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational, Health and Safety (OSH), Environmental, Health and Safety (WHS), Engineering or other related fields from an accredited university- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional
- Working Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma Principles

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
