AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. As a Network Technician, you will collaborate closely with our internal teams and external vendors to manage and deliver network scaling as and data center build projects in the cluster. You will be an ideal candidate if you are autonomous, detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills as well as being competent in all aspects of project management and troubleshooting of networking hardware, software and fiber connectivity. The desire and ability to work in an ambiguous, collaborative environment is essential for success.

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure fast and seamless delivery of network deployment projects
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Prepare and create cable documentation, and review cable tray and trunking pathway design
- Troubleshooting physical cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords using testing equipment
- Specifying Space Power, Cooling requirements for new network racks and devices
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Comply with change management policies and AWS cabling standards
- Conduct quality assurance activities
- Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Adhere to safety and security standards for all tasks
- Provide training and knowledge sharing with new technicians

A day in the life of a Network Technician is dynamic and ever-changing, with a primary focus on delivering network scaling projects. We work closely with internal teams and manage external vendors to ensure projects are completed smoothly and efficiently.

- Strong experience working with network infrastructure deployments in data center
- Experience working with 3rd party vendors on large projects.- 5+ years data center experience
- 3+ years experience managing network projects and external vendors
- Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters
- Proven expertise in project management, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk, with a strong ability to meet tight deadlines.
