Netflix is seeking a Public Policy coordinator to support its policy team for Türkiye as well as Middle East and North Africa. This is a full-time position located at our Istanbul Office and will report directly to the Director of Public Policy, Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye.
The Coordinator of Public Policy will work in line with Türkiye and MENA strategies to ensure that the policy and regulatory environment remains conducive to the growth of our business. This will include analyzing policy documents, providing input to draft regulations, drafting projects for educating and raising the awareness of external stakeholders, providing insight on policy issues of concern to us, advocating for our position with policy stakeholders by building alliances with industry partners and associations.
Identify, monitor and analyze relevant policy and regulatory trends, legislative proposals, relevant news, and developments in the government space which may have an impact on Netflix.
Prepare and communicate Netflix's positions on key policy and regulatory issues to policymakers and to external stakeholders
Develop and maintain relationships with a diverse set of public and private sector stakeholders to educate them about Netflix business model and build support for our policy positions
Help colleagues across Netflix understand the impact that potential changes to policies and regulations in Türkiye and MENA may have on our business and their respective functions, and work cross functionally with key relevant stakeholders; including Content, Legal, Product and Communications, to strategically align on various policy objectives
Develop and maintain relationships with peer company representatives across the technology and media community, and serve as a representative of Netflix in relevant trade groups or other industry bodies
Hold direct engagements with key policy, regulatory, legislative and industry stakeholders to support Netflix’s policy advocacy on key issues
Minimum 3 years experience in a policy-related role in either a government organization, legislative body, policy consulting firm, policy research institute or in-house government relations department of a corporate firm
High level of organization, attention to detail and the ability to keep multiple obligations and deadlines on-track in a very fast-paced environment.
Strong industry knowledge - an in-depth understanding and keen curiosity of the entertainment and media industries and internet based business models
Strong research and analytical skills, ability to collaborate with multiple teams simultaneously, ability to work well under pressure and against tight deadlines
An ability to cover a broad range of issues and work with a network of internal and external stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate cross-functionally and regionally
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Turkish Language. Arabic knowledge is a plus.
