**About the Role**
Build the strategy for the next phase of the ridesharing business in Latin America; enable execution by improving planning, focus, and alignment on this strategy for Uber’s 2nd largest region. Innovate on market intelligence and data gathering in the context of growing threats from other apps; manage the transition from supply growth and acquisition at any cost to increasing demand, penetrating new segments and building a strong and sustainable portfolio to reach all users, driving the next wave of growth and continuing to improve the margin profile of the region; interact across teams and regions to share LATAM’s best practices, identify new opportunities, influence other teams and lead the governance for the region.
**What You’ll Do**
- Vision: Working closely with the RGM, local Heads of Strategy & Planning, General Managers across Latin America and Global teams to align overall regional vision.
- Strategy: You’ll be responsible for building the region's business strategy to achieve high levels of growth in a highly competitive environment while continuing to improve margins.
- Thought Leadership: Working with all vertical leaders across Latin America to set strategic priorities, align regional and company vision, and share best practices. Be the thought partner and right hand to Latam’s Regional General Manager.
- Own the narrative of the region: You will be responsible for communicating the strategy, challenges, and needs of LatAm to get buy-in and support from regional and global teams to prioritize the region’s needs.
- Program/Project Management: Be an inventive, go-getter multitasker who supports teams across the region. You'll be the go-to person for many key initiatives, not only for Operations but also for key teams within the organization, such as Finance, Marketing, and Product.
- Process Improvement: Identify operational and structural weaknesses and help improve or innovate new processes, or simplify existing ones, to keep our local and regional teams as efficient as possible.
- Scale **:** Build, maintain, and communicate detailed reporting models to assist city-level, regional, and product expansion efforts, and make data-driven decisions.
- Develop Relationships: Collaborate with other functional areas (Engineering, Business Development, People Operations, Product, Legal, Finance etc.) to ensure efficient and productive working relationships.
- Lead by Example: Be truth-seeking and comfortable with data, set high standards for the team to think boldly and creatively, and then funnel that energy into concrete processes and execution plans. Move fast and be biased toward action.
**What You’ll Need**
- At least 12 years of investment banking/consulting/strategy or related experience; some high-growth operations or startup experience is very much preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in leading and developing teams across a matrix organization
- Proficiency in English; Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
- Outstanding communication and organization skills. Ability to effectively communicate to senior leadership both written (documents, emails, decks) and verbally. Team player to develop strategies and foster a cohesive and creative work environment.
- Financial analysis experience to improve our forecasting models and decision-making process.
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills to dissect complex problems into simple solutions.
- Clear communicator. You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate meaningful insights. Be an exceptional storyteller.
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well.
- Self-starter - the ability to self-serve, investigate, and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this role.
- A "driver" personality - biased toward action, great collaborator, and master disambiguator/simplifier - constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery.
- Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away.
