Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience managing programs across the full software development lifecycle or working with software engineering teams on Generative AI programs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working with Generative AI technologies.
  • Experience working with Infrastructure Systems.

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

In this role, you'll be working on GenAI integrations and infrastructure that we ship to billions of users around the world on Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, ChromeOS, and Linux.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Lead cross-functional teams of Engineers, Product Managers, and UX designers/researchers in executing projects and programs from concept to launch including planning, tracking progress, identifying and resolving issues, and managing dependencies.
  • Design and deploy processes and tools to improve the pace of Engineering teams, and the quality of product launches.
  • Provide program management leadership for the portfolio of generative AI (GenAI) priorities and establish partnerships with Engineering, Product, and UX leads.
  • Deliver transparency to keep core team members aligned, and stakeholders informed.
  • Leverage an understanding of GenAI feature development to identify and build new operational improvements and processes.
