Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or related fields within the Federal Civilian market.
  • Experience developing and closing agreements within the public sector.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience offering cloud computing solutions or other technology products/services to the public sector.
  • Understanding of the Federal Civilian procurement process and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.

As a Business Development Manager focused on the Federal Civilian Science and Research vertical market, you will play a role in driving significant business growth by developing a robust long-term opportunity pipeline while simultaneously accelerating near-term, large on-contract expansion. You will work closely with field sales managers, partner managers, industry executives, and technical sales managers to achieve ambitious growth targets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$169,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Identify and cultivate long-term opportunities within Federal Civilian Science and Research agencies, focusing on large-scale, complex projects. Influence and execute account plans to work with key agencies and build strong relationships with senior government officials and influencers.
  • Drive immediate business growth expansion by identifying and developing opportunities for on-contract growth within existing accounts. Collaborate with field sales teams to accelerate agreement closures.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges. Develop and refine go-to-market strategies to effectively position GPS solutions.
  • Work closely with other cross-functional teams to develop proposals and execute successful campaigns.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers. Represent Google Public Sector at industry events and conferences.
