Software Engineering Manager II, BigQuery BI

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  
• Experience in query processing and database internals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Develop a deep understanding of BigQuery/Dremel’s execution engine, including runtime, data plane, and control plane components to identify opportunities to optimize for efficiency and performance of BI queries.
• Work closely with Product teams and customers to shape the experience, and lead an Engineering team to execute quickly and with high quality.
