Your Role 

At team x, we are about implementing next-gen production solutions that enable engaging, hyper-realistic digital product experiences. Our goal is to make "every product playable", by combining the science of technology with the artistry of computer-generated content. Our CG artists, interactive designers, and developers focus on creating virtual versions of our clients' products, so lifelike it feels like you could reach out and touch them. We are seeking a proficient Unreal Engine Senior Artist for our Automotive product team. As part of this role, you will oversee and drive high-quality real-time visualisations and rendered sequences, lead a small team of other 3D modellers and software engineers. 

We have an exciting opportunity to join a Berlin based CGI team, dedicated to our automotive client, to produce cutting edge, hyper-realistic 3D visuals. The role will both lead and manage the development of all 3D builds, integrating into existing processes and supporting the growth of the team and service. 

Working as a Senior CGI Automotive Artist, you will be responsible for producing product visualizations for our client’s products. In this role you create photo-realistic renders, which are part of our interactive solutions. As a Senior CGI Artist, you help bring our client’s products come to life through top-notch visualizations and bring them to a level where you will not be able to tell them apart from real-life or photography. You will also have the opportunity to bring our real-time rendering pipeline to the next level of realism, working in environments such as Unreal Engine or Unity.

Our goal is to build virtual worlds for our automotive client. Powered by the Unreal Engine, we will build cityscapes, country roads and scenic tours around the global allowing us to adapt and localise these environments for global markets all the while providing photo-realistic quality of both stills and motion content.  

Your Responsibilities 

• Utilising Unreal Engine’s full suite of world building tools to create top quality content for still, video and interactive projects. Modelling optimised assets, from hard surface to photorealistic environmental elements.
• Contributing to the R&D pipeline and maintaining a strong knowledge of the latest tools and processes.
• Shader and Texture authoring for assets.
• Setting cameras, blocking, lighting and shooting a scene.
• Working closely with other artists, designers and programmers to implement the Producer or Creative Director’s vision.
• Creating convincing Real-Time VFX throughout all stages of the development process, from conception to completion.
• Maintaining consistently high-quality visuals across a range of effects, from vast environments to small technical objects – and everything in between.
• Optimising effects to run efficiently whilst maintaining high visual quality.
• Contributing innovative ideas to help improve your workflow and mentoring less experienced members of staff.

Your Experience 

• Excellent artistic skills with an emphasis on photorealistic product visualization and animations
• At least 2 years of experience with 3D modelling tools
• At least 2 years of experience with Unreal Engine or other real time engine
• Basic understanding of Blueprint scripting in Unreal Engine.
• Portfolio demonstrating artistic abilities in colour selection, materials, and lighting. Including demonstrating skills in translating concept sketches to realistic 3D scenes. The portfolio should include projects using Unreal Engine.
• Proficiency with at least one 3D modelling tool (Maya, Blender, etc.) and one 2D graphics tool (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects.)
• Experience in asset workflows, materials development, lighting development, animations, and basic VFX in Unreal Engine.
• Know-how on basic mechanical-animations
• Experience with 3DsMax, Photoshop, Aftereffects, Vray
• Be able to prepare 3D models for real-time usage, including textures & material creation, as well as be aware of optimizations
• Passion for digital product design
• English / German proficiency
