Part of Omnicom’s Precision Marketing Group, RAPP is comprised of 2,000+ creatives, technologists, strategists, and data and marketing scientists across 15+ global markets.

YOUR ROLE:

Working closely with the VP, Data Privacy and the agency Data Privacy & Security (DPS) team, as well as the technical project team to support and maintain robust data governance practices on a major client in North America. Fostering a data-driven culture, with precision and empathy at scale.

This role’s responsibilities focus on managing a data governance process, across agency disciplines and projects, maintaining standards relating to data governance practices across the data lifecycle and ensuring compliance with data handling regulations. Working closely with internal data and with technical, operations and business leadership teams to identify and implement appropriate standards and practices. Additionally, working with government stakeholders to ensure that the project is staying within their guidance and staying compliant. The role requires someone who is extremely hands-on, highly collaborative, and willing to dig into the details. The individual will work with both internal stakeholders as well as external clients and third-party vendors/organizations. This role requires broad, practical knowledge of managing data governance models and working to implement at a day-to-day level.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and be the ‘go-to’ person on client data handling policies and practices.
  • Managing the maintenance of required documentation as changes in the project occur.
  • Provide guidance to others on what needs to be done for their work to be compliant with RAPP and client policies.
  • Support the maintenance of data inventory and data flow mapping documentation.
  • Support data governance internal audits following the established data governance framework.
  • Identify areas of risk and collaborate on appropriate remediation plans with data governance, privacy and security peers.
  • Working with key stakeholders to continually to work on improving current policies and processes and support the implementation at an agency level.
  • Identify areas of improvement, recommend solutions to enhance privacy maturity standards.
  • Embed privacy by design in RAPP’s culture and working practices for responsible use of data
  • Serve as the voice of the customer with respect to effective and responsible use and sharing of data
  • Support the DPS team

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field (3+ years)
  • Certified or close to certifying with an accredited organization (e.g., IAPP certification; security certification) or extensive data governance experience
  • Understanding of and experience with industry-specific regulations and general technology solutions, security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, CMMC)
  • Good understanding of data governance frameworks, principles, and best practices.
  • Not afraid to push back on ideas and people if things are not being done the right way.
  • An understanding of cloud-based technology and security.
  • Has a problem-solving mentality to understand, map, and explain foreign and complex processes.
  • Passionate about leveraging data to drive business outcomes and possess strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Digs in, rolls up sleeves and loves finding solutions
  • Builds relationships, fosters trust, confidence and experience to call out issues
  • Active learne

Our hybrid work model:

RAPP's current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. As such, we have the option to work from home two days per week, if we'd like.

This range is specific to Chicago and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
