About the Team

The team reports to the Director of Subscriptions Program Management and consists of senior program management leaders who exhibit both the technical and business acumen necessary for overseeing the entire development of a product. They are technical, strategic and provide oversight for multiple complex product initiatives that require cross-functional team alignment across the company (and externally).

 

About the Role

In response to Roku’s significant growth and increasing number of complex strategic initiatives, Roku has created a program management group responsible for the planning, organization and management of people and processes necessary to ensure the success of all Roku products and key initiatives. The scope of this group includes the introduction of features across the platform like building out innovative consumer facing product features, establishing seamless end to end commerce experiences, building new Marketing technology, and launching international experiences.  

The Senior Program Manager will build and support execution plans within the product space and strategize to improve, centralize, and/or partner to implement global, consumer facing product features. You will work directly with multiple cross functional leaders across engineering, product, UX, the business, marketing and external partners to increase performance, optimization, and expand Roku's consumer facing product offerings. For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $148,000 - $200,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build and lead multiple core teams consisting of senior leaders across the company to drive the successful development and launch of Roku product features domestically and into new markets
  • Facilitate quarterly planning, release planning and prioritization by partnering with leads across product, engineering, and business leaders
  • Drive the end-to-end execution of product roadmap while managing stakeholder expectations and communication (engineering, UX, data science, etc.)
  • Manage critical decision making, anticipate and mitigate potential risks, explore and implement contingency plans, and ensure cross-functional alignment throughout a program's lifecycle
  • Facilitate communications across the company to ensure transparency of program progress and risks, maintain plan-of-record and provide appropriate and timely updates to our executive team
  • Identify and drive process improvements that make future programs more effective 
  • Participate in technical discussions to ensure solutions are designed for a successful & scalable deployment

 

We’re excited if you have:

  • 8+ years in Program, Product, or Engineering Management
  • 2+ years experience working in a subscriptions business model and/or the streaming industry (experience working in the Payments industry is plus)
  • Proficiency in Business & Product operations, with direct experience leading teams to set and measure performance goals
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate teams outside of your direct purview
  • Ability to engage business leaders in thoughtful debate on issues, plans, and solutions
  • Ability to present and convey key insights effectively to executive management
  • Ability to come up to speed quickly and contribute in a diverse set of technical areas
  • Comfort with ambiguity 
  • Data driven and pragmatic with excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Flexible to changing circumstances and capacity to maintain calm in the face of uncertainty
  • Jira & Confluence mastery is a plus 
  • MS/BS/MBA strongly preferred
