Engineering Manager II - Consumer Identity

**About The Role** We are looking for an Engineering Manager II to join our Consumer Identity Team.We are a highly collaborative, cross-functional team consisting of backend engineers, front-end engineers, product managers, data scientists and designers working together to manage identity at Uber effectively while enabling unprecedented growth. Your leadership will be instrumental in advancing Uber's goal of achieving a zero-trust architecture while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence within your team. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** \-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ---- The Identity team at Uber ensures that users, businesses, devices and applications can seamlessly and securely access Uber and affiliated third parties. We facilitate the complete lifecycle of identity, including creation, access and management. In particular, the Consumer Identity org’s mission is to create a unified and secure Uber identity that enables Uber products and partners to grow efficiently and at scale. We own the end to end experience of signup, login and account management for all users for Uber. Our platform empowers all Uber’s users across all LoBs (e.g. Rider, Driver, Eats, Freight, Direct, Uber for Business, etc). \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or a related technical field 2. Experience building and maintaining reliable, scalable infrastructure with high operational standards. 3. Proven ability to manage and mentor teams, set priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic environment. 4. Excellent communication skills, with a track record of collaborating across technical and non-technical teams. 5. Track record of driving security initiatives across diverse teams, aligning technical goals with broader organizational priorities. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. The ideal candidate would have experience in design and development of consumer facing products 2. Experience in areas of Authentication, Security, Cryptography, Identity Management, Authorization, and Access Control 3. Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, X.509, and other standard authentication protocols. 4. Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
