Specialist, Post Services, Sound - APAC

Position Overview:

As a Sound Specialist, Post Services at Netflix, you will play a crucial role in title management and training efforts for a global team. You will maintain the exceptional audio quality of our content while adhering to the key aspects of the Netflix culture memo. This is a remote position that offers the opportunity to work with a global team of talented professionals. You must ensure that all audio elements meet our stringent quality standards, providing an immersive and enjoyable viewing experience for our members.

You are highly skilled in sound editing, mixing, and, where applicable, dubbing and localization workflows. You have a deep understanding of current sound practices and tools used in the motion picture industry and are familiar with their development as technology and creative needs have advanced. Your experience includes collaboration with filmmakers, directors, showrunners, editors, producers, recordists, mixers, sound supervisors, archivists, and studio or network executives, giving you insight into their objectives and obstacles in striving for creative excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regional Program Management: Overseeing the audio quality, timely delivery, and communication with cross-functional partners for branded and non-branded titles, particularly in the M&E space.

• Training:  Responsible for training for contracted talent in designated regions.

• Quality Control (QC): Conduct thorough quality checks on delivered assets to identify and rectify any issues related to sound quality, sync, and technical specifications.

• Workflow Design: Create workflows and strategies for other requests from other Netflix departments, ensuring the highest quality in the least possible time, and looking for opportunities for process improvement and internalization to expand Post Services operations.

• Audio Editing: Execute audio editing tasks with precision, specializing in the identification and resolution of objectively blocking issues in M&E (Music and Effects) audio deliverables. This crucial role ensures that all audio elements meet our stringent quality standards.

• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with cross-functional teams, providing feedback and recommendations to improve the overall audio quality of content. 

• Technical Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard tools, such as Pro Tools and Izotope RX, to perform and train audio editing, cleanup, and enhancement tasks.

• Adherence to Netflix Culture: Embrace and embody the key aspects of the Netflix culture memo, including a focus on creativity, responsibility, freedom, and a commitment to excellence in everything you do.

• Global Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from around the world, adapting to different time zones and cultural contexts to contribute to the success of our global team. Learn from different cultures, industries, and skill levels. 

• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve audio-related issues promptly to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content to our members.

• Continuous Improvement: Actively search for feedback and personal growth opportunities and stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging audio technologies to continuously improve your skills and contribute to the advancement of our audio quality standards.
   

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in professional sound finishing or dubbing for film and television. Quality control experience is a plus.

• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.

• Proven experience with audio editing software, including Pro Tools and Izotope RX. Experience with other source separation or AI tools is a plus. 

• Proven experience coordinating with a hospitality approach to audio projects at scale. 

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional audio experiences.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote, global team environment.

• Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• A commitment to the values and culture outlined in the Netflix culture memo.
