We are looking for an experienced Senior Researcher to join our EMEA team for an exciting, wide-ranging role with a remit of all markets outside of Western Europe, specifically Central/Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey. This position will be based in the Netflix office in Amsterdam.

Senior Researchers at Netflix are valued partners with our EMEA regional Content, Marketing, and Product teams with the aim to help them tell incredible stories, define strategy, and develop world-class campaigns. The scope of this role is broad with tremendous opportunity for leadership and impact, covering multiple countries in the EMEA region with highly strategic questions. This is a senior individual contributor role and we’re looking for a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience.

Types of projects you will lead:

You will lead research on a wide variety of topics within your region (and occasionally beyond), ranging from big-picture country strategy to film/series-specific insights. A key focus will be to deeply understand the underlying needs, motivations, and emotions that drive love for our TV shows and movies so we can help Netflix continue to create stories that will excite our current and future members. More broadly you will be a thought leader in helping to drive strategy in the region and beyond, and will represent the voice of the EMEA consumer globally.

About you:

  • You are a mixed-methods researcher with client-side experience. Hands-on experience designing and executing end-to-end quantitative and qualitative research studies is required.

  • Previous experience working in entertainment research is required. A deep passion for TV and film and being curious about the business and state of the industry is a must to be successful as a thought leader in the space.

  • You effectively translate findings into strategic creative and business recommendations and communicate these to inform decision-making. Experience presenting / socializing insights at all levels of an organization. Your work will travel far and wide at Netflix!

  • You are a strong communicator, able to summarize complex ideas in a clear and succinct way. You are adaptable and effectively tailor your communication to the audience.

  • You are a selfless collaborator, able to partner successfully with insights colleagues both in-region and globally. Likewise, you are able to build strong relationships with a large number of stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including Content, Marketing/Comms, Product, Data Science, Business Strategy.

  • You are able to identify high priority research needs and develop research roadmaps that maximize insights impact. At the same time, you are skilled at anticipating research needs, identifying consumer/industry trends and opportunities, and research gaps. The GEMs markets are complex and varied – ability to effectively prioritize across these unique markets is key.

  • You understand the business and consumer landscape in EMEA, and are able to bring a unique perspective based on your expert understanding of the region. You are able to connect dots between regionally-focused and globally-focused initiatives, while representing the EMEA consumer needs and voice.

  • Work across time zones and occasional travel is required for this role.

  • Business English required; a second EMEA language is beneficial
