Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) – KYC Checker Role
Department: Merchant Onboarding
Location: Bangalore - Aurbis
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the KYC Checker role in our Merchant Onboarding team. The SME will ensure compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer) norms, maintain high-quality standards, and provide guidance to the team on KYC processes. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of regulatory requirements and demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • KYC Review and Compliance: Perform thorough checks on KYC documents for new and existing merchants to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Team Support: Act as the go-to person for queries related to KYC processes, providing training and support to team members as needed.
  • Process Enhancement: Collaborate with the design and tech teams to streamline and automate KYC checking processes where possible.
  • Error Rectification: Identify and rectify errors in KYC submissions to minimize rework and improve overall accuracy.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including TAT (Turnaround Time) and AHT (Average Handling Time).
  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including the tech team, business leads, and compliance teams, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of KYC checks and prepare periodic compliance reports for internal and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in KYC verification, compliance, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of KYC norms, regulatory frameworks, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional collaborations.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a leadership or SME role in the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Experience in merchant onboarding or similar processes.
