Leadership Quote: Booking.com is looking for a Business Continuity Senior Lead with experience across the Business Continuity life-cycle, specializing in building and delivering BCM programs from the ground up. The position will offer a high degree of visibility as we take Business Continuity from theory to practice. Role Description: The Business Continuity Senior Lead is a critical second-line-of-defense role at Booking.com, focused on safeguarding people, customers, partners, and assets. As part of the Group Security and Resilience team, this position demands a flexible, independent problem-solver to build organizational resilience. The Senior Lead will be key in implementing business continuity strategy, policy, and planning across all stakeholders. In a dynamic and challenging environment, this role will capitalize on increased resiliency awareness to establish a leading BCM program. Joining the existing BC team, the Senior Lead will contribute to foundational elements like risk and business impact assessments, BCM governance, and compliance. Key Job Responsibilities and Duties: Create and manage the introduction and initial implementation of Business Continuity across the business, influencing leadership and key teams throughout the business to support and invest in BC, ensuring a reliable and working ‘First line’ With little direction and working with key stakeholders, lead an enterprise Business Impact Analysis, Risk Assessments, to identify the key risks to operations, mapping critical functions, and prioritizing bespoke BC roll-out Function as a point of contact for BC, creating strong formal and informal networks with cross-functional partners to drive engagement and deliver the Global Business Continuity Roadmap, ensuring it includes Operational Resilience, IT Disaster Recovery, and Global Crisis Response Provide support and expertise across other workstreams focussed on incident management, crisis management and IT Disaster Recovery Benchmark industry best practices and drive continuous improvement for the BC Program, deep-diving into data, processes, systems, and challenges Conduct plan development, training, and exercise workshops with business units to raise business continuity awareness and preparedness for crisis or business disruptive events Challenges assumptions about “the way things are done” Qualifications & Skills: 5+ years of experience developing business continuity programs and successfully executing implementation in complex, decentralized environments, ideally in the tech industry. IT Disaster Recovery (Information Technology focus) expertise highly desired First-class project management, highly organized and focused on prioritization, planning, tracking, and coordination across teams with strong attention to detail in a fast-moving, high pressured environment Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, you must be able to positively influence decision making at all levels of the organization, including senior global leadership. Must be able to grow and foster strong relationships with employees across functions and geographic locations Must be able to articulate the organizational, customer, business, technology benefits of Business Continuity to stakeholders in a manner that is meaningful to them Familiarity in implementing/operating BC management systems (Riskonnect, Service Now, other.)
