Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in one of the following developer tooling and infrastructure, building tools and testing frameworks, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging.
- Experience with coding in Java/Kotlin, Swift, Python.
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
- Develop and maintain tools and infrastructure software to support testing efforts and to improve the testability of the product and systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and work across a full-stack (e.g., client, server, device) to align on strategies, and develop tooling and automation to improve product quality.
- Impact the productivity of engineers working in the Fitbit Mobile App landscape by providing tools, processes and guidance for improving app testability and writing automated test cases.
- Work with talented test engineers inside Engineering Productivity to understand the automation needs for certain features and build the appropriate infrastructure.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
