We are seeking an experienced and passionate Product Manager with technical depth, product intuition and entrepreneurial spirit to drive the safety experiences roadmap. The role demands principled thinking, a stubborn refusal to settle, bold innovation, and a mentality that always starts with the user. You will work with star engineers and product designers in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, hybrid technology + operations environment to build tools, contextual experiences and implement policies to engender trust among our users and promote safety globally. You should be comfortable in uncharted territory as we build unique safety technologies for eaters, riders, drivers, couriers and every user who touches the Uber community. We need your skills and enthusiasm to make it happen.
**What the Candidate Will Do**
- Build user-facing products as well as backend solutions that enhance safety for all of our users
- Be incredibly truth-seeking. Collect whatever data is necessary to inform product direction by soliciting and embracing critical feedback
- Partner with Data Science, User Experience Research, Operations and Support teams to seek insights on user problems and evangelize those problems, along with your proposed solutions, across Uber
- Develop, articulate and execute a bold and visionary product strategy and roadmap for safety products
**Basic Qualifications**
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Technical Product Manager AND an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar.
- Strong technical background, preferably with experience managing products that heavily involve machine learning, parsing through complex datasets, and working closely with engineering stakeholders.
- Experience and ability to collaborate effectively and thrive with many different cross functional teams including DS, Eng, Legal, Ops, etc on a global scale. You will be managing stakeholders internationally.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Ability to thrive in cross-functional environments and work backward from the needs of your customers to build solutions that scale.
- Data-driven decision-making ability and a "driver" personality for pushing toward clarity and balancing the need for great collaboration.
- High attention to detail and proven track record to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
- Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A passion for Uber's mission and technology-driven culture, along with a deep desire to grow and learn!
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$161,000 per year - USD$179,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$161,000 per year - USD$179,000 per year.
For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$161,000 per year - USD$179,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
