We are looking for a:

The Project Manager is pivotal in orchestrating and steering all social listening and intelligence projects spanning various markets and brands across the African landscape. The Senior Project Manager oversees the resourcing, coordination and execution of these projects, guiding them from initial briefing to successful delivery.

This role involves meticulous planning and follow-up. Crucial to this position is a comprehensive understanding and deep appreciation of social media dynamics, including an in-depth knowledge of the main features, advantages, and limitations across major social platforms and reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

Client Engagement & Relationship Management:

  • Develop and nurture strong client relationships, serving as clients' and partners' primary point of contact.
  • Achieve and sustain client satisfaction by balancing client and agency needs.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing requests to meet and clarify client expectations.
  • Educate clients on processes, procedures, and global methodologies when necessary.

Strategic Guidance & Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with local Market leads and their teams to extract valuable local context/nuances needed for reporting.
  • Provide strategic project management support, fostering cross-functional collaboration to meet objectives effectively.
  • Build and manage relationships with global teams and networks to aid in seamless and effective project delivery.

Project Planning and Management:

  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including resource allocation, scheduling, and milestone tracking for timely delivery.
  • Effectively lead and guide daily stand-up meetings, ensuring clarity, focus, and adherence to time limits.
  • Ensure projects are executed and implemented to meet scope, time, and budget objectives.
  • Liaise with and manage project teams across local and global networks, maintaining a project details repository to ensure information accessibility and timely communication.
  • Monitor progress against timelines, ensuring projects remain on track.
  • Develop and manage project status documents, regularly reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify risks, implement solutions to maintain project trajectory, and conduct post-project evaluations to optimise future reports.

Resource and Workflow Management:

  • Forecast necessary resources aligned with project requirements.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process enhancement and efficiency, aiding in overall performance.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations, including scheduling, task management, and communication with your team.
  • Motivate data analysts and local market teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work culture.

Financial Management:

  • Manage day-to-day billing, including invoicing, purchase orders, and financial reporting.
  • Handle budget management and oversight, ensuring alignment with project requirements and financial objectives.
  • Collaborating with finance teams to ensure accurate invoicing and adherence to financial protocols.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have the following background:

  • Minimum of 4 years of project management experience 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and team members.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively whilst taking full ownership of deliverables.
  • Proven experience in financial management, including scoping, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ability to schedule, track and prioritise work with critical deadlines and milestones.
  • Familiarity with social media advertising platforms and organic and paid social campaign strategies.
  • Proficiency in crisis management and the ability to handle unexpected challenges effectively.
