THE ROLE


We are Netflix’s Social Marketing team. We're a team of creatives, social media strategists, editors, content producers, and meme enthusiasts; we’re entertainment fans. We’re constantly reinventing how we approach talking about what we love the most: series and films. We aim to build awareness and excitement for our titles as we grow the socially most influential entertainment brand in Mexico and the region.  We listen to our audiences and communities to understand shared passions and create insights for our fans to discover new shows, movies, and talent. We simply want our fans to fall more deeply in love with something they’ve already watched or will watch next. In this team, you’ll create conversations about Netflix by bringing our content to the local social zeitgeist through best-in-class creative.


We are looking for a marketing leader to head Social marketing for Netflix Mexico & Nola (Colombia and Peru). The Netflix Social community serves over 100 million fans and it’s one of our most valuable brand assets, contributing meaningfully to our title, talent and brand marketing efforts.  This person will lead a talented team of social marketing managers who are responsible for best in class work in both community management and campaigns. This team operates at the center of pop culture, driving conversation & engagement, creating & reacting to trends, and connecting audience needs with brand  & business needs. 
The Social Marketing Director role is based in Mexico City and will report to the Head of Marketing & Publicity for the Mexico & North Latam region.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading a talented team of social marketing professionals responsible for all aspects of community, audience management, programming and production.
  • Lead or support the creative development of new title campaigns on digital platforms to drive conversation.
  • Responsible for platform health; follower and engagement growth across all handles / channels (YT, IG, FB, WA, X, ETC)
  • Developing our different vendor/partner model social agency relationships to elevate creativity, operational efficiencies and innovation.
  • Cross functional collaboration to support Content, PR, Product, Integrated Marketing, Consumer Product  and Media Teams.
  • Operating at the cutting edge of pop culture: spot/jump on trends, identify brand opportunities and to influence the overall marketing strategy.
  • Provide audience, fandom and title insights through social listening to inspire creative campaign developments.
  • Operational excellence in constantly iterating workflows, processes, checking and refining them to ensure smooth 360 functioning of work between teams and functions.


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Leadership: Experience in managing and growing individuals. Appetite to learn, develop and build bridges across the organization constructively.
  • Creativity: 10-15 years in consumer facing marketing roles, specialized in brand communication and/or creative campaign development. Entertainment marketing experience is nice to have.
  • Exceptional Relationship Building - with teams, peers, cross functional partners, external stakeholders.
  • Pop Culture: Demonstrate passion and knowledge around Mexican culture, trends and current conversation.
  • Social Media: Well versed and up to date with the current social media ecosystem (formats, platforms, trends).
  • Operational Expertise: Able to assess and optimize workflows with internal and external teams considering the production of a large volume of assets every week.
  • Exceptional communication skills -Verbal, presentation, written - with the ability to communicate thinking effectively and sharply, and inspire teams across all levels
  • Media Savvy. Solid understanding of the digital media landscape and well versed in extracting, interpreting and informing strategy from key metrics
