Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) system power analysis, hardware/software optimizations, mobile engagement analysis, or a related technical field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with hardware rework (e.g., identifying and removing/replacing components on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB)) and instrumentation (e.g., DAQs, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Experience with System on a Chip (SoC) subsystems and power delivery including PMIC, CPU, GPU, memory, infrastructure, or power management.
  • Experience with power/performance benchmarking analysis.
  • Excellent programming skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Work with cross-functional hardware, software, and systems teams to perform power or performance trade-off analysis and optimizations for a variety of use-cases.
  • Analyze phone hardware for chipset analysis.
  • Define, develop or utilize tools and methods for detailed power measurements and analysis including hardware modification, system profiling/tracing, or writing custom test scripts or applications.
  • Propose and drive implementation of power optimization features across hardware and software.
  • Participate in power and performance benchmarking of hardware (e.g., SoC, CPU, GPU, power management integrated circuit (PMIC) and more), software (e.g., firmware, kernel, Android/iOS, and more), and applications (e.g., multimedia, generative AI, and more) across internal and external platforms.
