Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience with Distributed File Systems, or Storage systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with Distributed File Systems, or Storage systems.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • 3 years of experience in performance modeling.
  • Familiarity with various PFS products, including Lustre, Data Access Object (DAOS), and other solutions.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

The File Solutions team offers fully managed file services for Enterprise, High Performance Computing (HPC), and AI/ML customers, supporting workloads such as SAP, stateful Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) applications, Media and Entertainment (M&E), EDA, FinTech, and Life Sciences (LifeSci), etc.

The team goal is to be the authoritative one stop shop for all file solutions in GCP serving customers, and managing hundreds of Privacy Issue Bugs (PiB) of customer data, while maintaining the performance, scale, reliability, usability, quality, and observability as well as End-to-End (E2E) ownership of the whole file portfolio, whether built internally or via integration with third-party and open source technologies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Focus on scaling File Solutions solutions products for AI/ML customers.
  • Identify, leverage, and influence the roadmap of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)/TI to enhance the performance, scalability, efficiency, and reliability of end-to-end file-based solutions.
  • Collaborating with Partner Domains (PD) and Local Solid-State Drive (SSD) teams to manage upcoming changes in a scalable, managed file system.
  • Identify and Drive strategic partnerships with third-party solutions and vendors for HPC/AI/ML/workload modernization.
  • Perform various performance tests, explore the future requirements and and create a goal and proposal/s for the long term solution for Play Feedback Server (PFS).
