As UX Designers at Riot, we are responsible for design work in high-scope product areas that are complex and ambiguous. Our work includes end-to-end experience design for both players and internal customers, often spanning multiple features and teams. We work from concept through development, participate in agile product development, and partner closely with Visual Design, Research, Product, and Engineering to achieve our goals.

As a Senior User Experience Designer on the Content Delivery Team, you’ll help our commerce and content platform experiences move into an exciting new era. You will work closely with platform, publishing, and game teams to understand their needs and support them via UX solutions via Riot’s content delivery tools. You will play a key role in shaping the architecture, workflows, and patterns of our developer-facing tools to ensure we create right-sized solutions to streamline our content pipelines. Your role will be primarily to lead UX design on our Commerce Content Delivery team to ensure that our commerce tools integrate seamlessly with game developers relying on these tools. You’ll also mentor early-career designers to shape the future of our platform tools & service experiences, such as our asset and content management tools and services to deliver content to our players across websites, applications, and games.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead UX design for our Content Delivery team, operating as a part of team leadership.
  • Deliver strategy and specific UX solutions for B2B tools and service workflows that optimize for reuse, reduce the need for lengthy onboarding, and reduce risk of costly errors for customers.
  • Create a shared understanding of customer needs, live incident history, company roadmap, and business goals into a UX strategy for our content tools across Riot.
  • Collaborate with other UX designers and mentor junior designers on your team and adjacent teams working on commerce and developer-facing experiences.
  • Coordinate to build shared understanding with visual designers, producers, analysts, technical writers, product managers, and engineers on your team and partner teams.
  • Presenting insights-informed vision and design rationale to the team, stakeholders, and initiative leaders.
  • Deliver appropriate level of design artifacts for the team (e.g. strategy, research insights, service blueprints, journey maps, flows, wireframes, and/or prototypes).
  • Actively participate in the UX community, sharing and soliciting feedback on your work, processes, and design frameworks.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience designing digital experiences, products, tools or platforms as a User Experience Designer or Service Designer.
  • Proficient with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch or other industry design and prototyping tools.
  • Experience designing and releasing B2B services and tools, commerce, or enterprise web experiences.
  • Comfortable with early hours at least 3 days a week with a team in the Dublin time-zone.
  • A professional portfolio with examples of your past work.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction/ Interface Design, Communication Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with or experience working on developer-facing products
  • Experience with internal tools, asset management tools, or CMS solutions such as Sanity, ContentStack, Bynder, etc.

We will review case studies of your past work as a part of the application process, so please provide a portfolio link or PDF (as a cover letter) with your application.

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!
