Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience maintaining and contributing to an open source project.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in one or more common programming languages used for Google Cloud development (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js, C#), particularly in creating idiomatic and high-quality code samples.
- Experience with developing, testing, and maintaining code samples, SDKs, or developer-facing tools.
- Experience working with various APIs with the understanding of API design principles.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, including code readability, maintainability, testing, and version control (especially git/code hosting platform).

With your technical expertise, you drive strategy around fostering a community of developers who work with Google technologies. An ardent advocate for these developers, you represent their voice internally to our Product Managers and serve as their Google support in application development and technology implementation.
The Google Cloud Engineering Platform team, part of Cloud Developer Relations, drives developer success and adoption across Google Cloud. Our goal is to empower developers to build on Google Cloud with confidence and ease by providing access to real-world, high-quality example code and systems that support documentation and an enhanced developer experience.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Leverage AI to programmatically generate and validate Google Cloud code samples, improving coverage and reducing the need for handwritten examples.
- Operationalize the "Samples Ecosystem Infrastructure" to create a self-service model for partner teams to contribute and maintain their sample collections. This enhances sample discoverability, quality, and consistency, while reducing publishing time.
- Create and maintaining foundational and strategic samples, including support for innovative demos and prioritized use-cases, ensuring developers have the resources they need to solve real-world problems and accelerate their adoption of Google Cloud.
