Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience working with branches, agencies, and institutions of the U.S. government, including the U.S. Congress.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with enterprise technology companies.
  • Experience with government procurement.
  • Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy and corporate development.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communications, and government relations skills.

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. The United States (US) and Canada Google Cloud Government Affairs and Public Policy team advocate for policies to support the growth of Google Cloud and specifically our public sector business. Government Affairs' mission is to advocate Google with governments and influencers to benefit our company, customers, users, and society as a whole.

Google Client Services, an entity within the Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team, manages the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy in the United States. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspectives with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the Internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $182,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Develop and implement comprehensive congressional strategies to support Google Cloud's business and policy goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress and their staff.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting Google Cloud.
  • Advocate for Google Cloud's positions on key issues.
  • Represent Google Cloud at congressional hearings, briefings, and events.
