Below is a general description of job responsibilities of a Junior Financial Analyst at Booking.com: Role Description: This position offers the opportunity to support financial decision making within Booking.com. We are currently looking for an entrepreneurial Junior Financial Analyst to be part of the dynamic and fast-paced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. In this role you will report to a Senior Manager of the Accommodations Business Unit FP&A team. You will be working in our office in Amsterdam. You will be required to provide financial and analytical support to your commercial function stakeholders. You will have to bridge what the data tell you and how that could help decision-making on a wide array of topics. You will also be involved in supporting ad-hoc analyses whenever there is a need from the business. Key Job Responsibilities and Duties: Support with variance analysis and reporting of financial performance; Contribute to robust, scalable and insightful reporting of the Accommodations BU topline metrics; Proactively deliver intelligence based on data to support and advise the FP&A team and/or business partners whenever necessary; Provide analytical support and contribute to strategic decision making; Continuously seek ways to improve and optimize the existing reporting to fit with evolving requests from senior management and help translate business requirements into digital solutions; Perform ad-hoc analysis, scenarios and benchmarking as needed. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or other related field (preferred) with 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role; Financial modeling and analytical skills and a high attention to detail and ability to connect the dots and reconcile multiple data sources; Strong communication skills with a self-driven mentality, proactively seeking to find solutions to problems and providing the best analytics possible to key decision makers Advanced knowledge of Excel but also a strong affinity with modern reporting and analytics tools such as Microstrategy, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms. Familiarity with SQL for querying and a basic understanding of data modeling concepts is preferred; Sees the headlines or big picture whilst having attention for the details; Strong team-working skills with ability to work independently and also comfortable working in cross-functional teams and working in an unstructured environment; Benefits & Perks - Global Impact, Personal Relevance: Booking.com’s Total Rewards Philosophy is not only about compensation but also about benefits.
