The Car Rental Apps team plays a crucial role in building and enhancing our app’s car hire capabilities, shaping the experience for millions of travellers every year. Role Description: We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager who is customer-obsessed, thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and is passionate about app product innovation. Reporting to a Group Product Manager, you will oversee the Checkout and Post-Book team. Over the course of this 12-month caretaker role, you’ll have the opportunity to: Work on GenAI product launches Solve critical challenges affecting successful car rental pick-ups Prepare for a multi-product future This role is ideal for strategic thinkers with an analytical mindset. You’ll design, develop, and implement products based on user needs, aligned with our group strategy and product missions. You’ll be committed to delivering creative solutions that enhance traveller experiences while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Key Job Responsibilities and Duties: To drive meaningful change in a fast-paced environment, you will: Develop a deep understanding of current and future traveller needs, keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in mobile apps.1 Collaborate with the Group Product Manager and stakeholders to refine the product area’s overall strategy and own the roadmap with objectives aligned to strategic goals. Lead the end-to-end delivery of products, working closely with Marketing, Commercial, and Operational teams. Build strong relationships with engineers, designers, architects, and testers to create traveller-centric features, ensuring well-defined epics and user stories are efficiently delivered and iterated upon based on feedback. Make feature trade-offs and prioritisation decisions that balance traveller needs with technical considerations while clearly communicating progress to senior stakeholders and product leadership. Qualifications & Skills: 3+ years’ experience in product management within an agile environment Strong understanding of agile methodologies, UX design principles, and mobile best practices Data-driven mindset, with expertise in using quantitative and qualitative methods to identify product opportunities and validate ideas Excellent analytical skills, including writing user stories and documenting technical requirements Outstanding communication skills - able to clearly articulate complex ideas, strategies, and technical details to a diverse audience up to director level (and occasionally VP) Proven track record of problem-solving and developing creative solutions Experience leading successful product discovery processes Desired Skills Experience working on iOS & Android mobile apps for highly transactional e-commerce brands Knowledge of Apple & Google’s design standards Deep understanding of e-commerce business models Experience working with data and SQL Familiarity with monitoring and analytical tools such as Kibana and Grafana Benefits & Perks - Global Impact, Personal Relevance: Booking.com’s Total Rewards Philosophy is not only about compensation but also about benefits.
