Netflix is responsible for over 30% of primetime Internet traffic with many Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and continues to experience amazing growth. The Open Connect Partner Engagement Team works to ensure the best end-user quality of experience possible through efforts with ISPs to maximize traffic throughput and minimize network congestion in the most efficient manner possible. This role is suited to a seasoned professional with more than 15 years of relevant experience in the internet industry with a focus on edge, peering, interconnections, architecture, governance, and sourcing. The individual is expected to be a subject matter expert in each of market intelligence, current and future internet technologies, and governance domains, and can analyze and create alignment across disciplines and internal stakeholders to support the strategic imperatives of the ISP partnership strategies.

Primary responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to align on global strategic objectives and ensure/maintain alignment on the execution of strategies at the regional/local level.

  • Date Market research and collateral to support the maintenance of optimal regional/local strategies. Synthesize current and future market conditions to support the ISP Partnerships team to create and execute strategy with ISP partners

  • Engage in Technical discussions internally and externally and create collateral to support the development of the technical strategy for the ISP Partnerships team.

  • Work closely cross-functionally with stakeholders, including Business Development (BD), Legal, Government Relations (GR), and Public Relations (PR), to articulate and align on Open Connect objectives and provide collateral to the ISP Partnerships organization for global alignment.

    • Work closely with legal to maintain strategic unity across the markets and to ensure Open Connect strategic objectives are well represented

    • Work closely with GR and other stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise support on Open Connect related issues.
       

  • Create collateral materials that can be understood and used by experts and non-experts alike

Requirements:

  • Ability to synthesize multiple disciplines to align with strategic objectives

  • Communicate effectively and succinctly (verbally and in writing) with various technical, business, and legal contacts at ISP partners, fluently in English.  Additional language fluency is a plus.

  • Deep understanding of the Internet ecosystem, both from a technical and business perspective

  • Fluency in the architecture and engineering of content delivery systems 

  • Network architecture, design, and engineering experience desired

  • Extensive contract negotiation experience

  • Travel is required within the region and for infrequent global engagements

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $290,000 - $760,000.
