Department Summary:

The Production OH team exists to facilitate a premier CG animation foundation for feature film production and maintain alignment between the studio and the productions in CG leadership, production operations, production tools, and training. Further, this department plays a critical role in integrating an end-to-end global animation workflow and pipeline across three locations in Burbank, Vancouver, and Sydney. 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Coordinator to support the Production Overhead team. Reporting to the Director, Production Operations,  the Coordinator will manage the day-to-day needs of the department on an as-needed basis. Think of this role as the department's air traffic control, minding the department's weekly and monthly cadence to best support our show and studio priorities. Success in this role is a strong rhythm and efficiency in department operations, partnership with the Productions, and solid relationships and communication within and outside the department in all three studio locations. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain the Department’s Calendar, including scheduling and coordinating internal show meetings and other regular cross-functional meetings as needed.

  • Oversee department leaders’ calendars (Burbank-focused, and partnered with SYD and VAN)  to ensure an efficient flow to the week/month in pursuit of the department’s objectives. 

  • Assist in administrative duties such as maintaining crew contact sheets and ensuring document organization in the Netflix ecosystem.

  • Take notes during meetings and reviews, and distribute them promptly as needed.

  • Create, distribute, and follow up on action items after meetings with external and cross-functional partners.

  • Work across departments to establish, improve, and maintain communication and scheduling to create an efficient flow and cadence

  • Support in the building of decks and writing of memos in partnership with project ICs, as required.

  • Coordinate with cross-studio production teams on departmental projects and priorities. Track next steps and deliverable deadlines. 

  • Serve as the team morale point of contact, which includes planning and executing morale events, on-sites/off-sites, and summits for the department or in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

  • As needed, working with Associates and the PMWE team to resolve permissions and onboarding issues that require Netflix tool changes like Starship, etc.

  • Ensure that Slate Manager,  Production Center, and the Studio Production meeting agendas are up to date as schedules are submitted for review and milestones move or change.

  • Maintain the organization of department folders, agendas, and documents. Includes driving updates and innovating organization as needed.

  • Support Show onboarding of FAN tools like Asset Spotting, Script Breakdown, etc., and initiates training and tool usage based on show schedules and milestones.

  • Support various Cross-Functionals to ensure that Studio Communications or update newsletters get timely and relevant departmental information.

  • Burbank POC for Prod OH related travel for department members or department-driven events (i.e., summits). 

  • Support in the travel arrangements for the Production crew in support of Summits/Studio Initiatives/Anim Garage/non film related events.

  • Support in Department projects, as instructed by the department leadership. 

What You’ll Need:

  • At a minimum, three years of experience in Animation Production Management or a related field.

  • Knowledge of CG animation is required; feature film level is preferred.

  • Skill and willingness to create allies within the department and with cross-functional peers to ensure good communication and smooth operations within the studio.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, ability to multitask, strong desire to learn, interested in people, and have excellent verbal, written, and e-social communication skills.

  • Comfort level working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with the ability to manage time and balance priorities

  • Proactive, positive thinker with a willingness to offer assistance with any task, large or small.

  • Experienced in Google Suite (preferred) and/or Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of asset and shot tracking systems, Flow Production Tracking (Shotgrid), a plus.

This role is based in the US.

At Netflix Animation Studios, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience.  The overall market range for this role is typically $25 - $40 per hour.  This reflects total compensation; we do not have stock options.
