Our Netflix Technology Services team (N-Tech) has the mission of optimizing the productivity of Netflix employees by supporting their technology needs, whether that’s designing and engineering our tech solutions, fixing a computer/network, troubleshooting a conference room’s camera, or supporting live events. We’re looking for a versatile and experienced AV Engineer to join our Global AV team.
AV Engineers on the Builds team work on a variety of systems ranging from small collaboration spaces to larger venue type systems. The right candidate will have a wide breadth of experience that encompasses enterprise level collaboration AV and aspects of broadcast level systems. You'll be empowered to own projects from start to finish, delivering optimized experiences for cross functionals and end-users.
This position will report into the Enterprise AV Builds team. This team has a global remit with projects deploying in most of the company’s corporate locations. They will be expected to fulfill AV the delivery of standards-based systems, project commissioning/handoff, Tier 4 AV support, and serve as a conduit between the AV verticals. Successful candidates must have experience with large scale AV builds, AV project management, and advanced AV field engineering as an escalation point. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to improving the process; both engineering and program related. For onsite event spaces, this person will manage the escalations for breakfix, coordination with AV Builds and/or vendors under service contracts.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the larger AV team, space planning teams, and other cross functional employees to define the technical requirements for a space.
Assist in the design, build, and management of conference rooms and other collaboration spaces (training rooms, refreshes, moves/adds/changes, experiential tech)
Facilitate commissioning new AV builds, including working with vendors to resolve all issues before FDOB.
Manage and develop processes for successful project handoff and documentation.
Troubleshoot and provide technical support for issues escalated by partner teams.
Assist in the development of processes and standards for conference room designs and support across several different environments.
Clearly communicate and document processes to team, vendors, and partners.
Foster partnerships with team members working in other regions.
Quality control of inventory and asset management.
Communicate needs and upstream dependencies clearly.
Help to develop escalation workflows between teams that will continue to scale with Netflix as we grow.
Experience
Experience with AV design and deployment from the ground up, including acoustics, lighting, and other tech for conference rooms. CTS, CTS-D certifications are a bonus.
Experience with designing and supporting Google Meet video conferencing hardware preferred.
Advanced AV field engineering experience working with Q-SYS, Crestron, audio DSP’s, video conferencing hardware, LED walls, and Dante/AES based systems.
Demonstrated project management experience with large projects, organizational skills and an ability to maintain and create standards.
Advanced understanding of networking technology, video transmission over IP and audio/video signal flow.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting advanced audio and video equipment in the field as an escalation point.
Experience with AV integration on the integrator and/or corporate side, with a focus on the physical installation and commissioning/project closeout.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be a self-motivated self-starter who can initiate ideas and take ownership of work all the way to completion.
Experience working with and managing various vendors, suppliers and integrators.
Able to prioritize tasks and projects, and accurately forecast upcoming project needs.
International and domestic travel is required
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $700,000.
