We are looking for a talented, collaborative, adaptable, proactive and curious lawyer to join our Legal team to support our growing Ad Sales and Brand Partnership business areas. The successful candidate will be based in São Paulo and report to the Legal Senior Director of Content, Marketing, Ads, Comms and CPX in Brazil.
The Role:
You will provide legal support to business areas within the advertising, marketing and promotional industry with a focus on digital Ad Sales (to build a best-in-class ads organization that establishes Netflix as a must-buy for advertiser partners) and Brand Partnerships (to create the most impactful and talked about partnerships in entertainment).
This role comprises experience in negotiating various deals relevant to ad sales and business partnerships with brands to promote our shows, our Service, and third-party brands. It requires knowledge in the digital ad sales industry and in various types of promotional and revenue-oriented brand partnerships and it presupposes solid experience in legal areas such as contracts, media regulatio,n and intellectual property, as well as pragmatic, reality-based risk assessment to support our teams to get their ideas and projects done.
Responsibilities will include proactive and independent legal advice, deal negotiation, and contract drafting for digital ad sales and for various potential entertainment-oriented partnerships with third-party brands, all in close partnership with applicable business and creative business teams, as well with cross-functional partners in accounting, operations, tax, compliance, corporate comms, etc.
Preferred candidate profile:
8+ years of experience as a qualified attorney working on contractual and business matters relevant to digital Ad Sales and to partnerships with brands (drafting and negotiating agreements in English and Portuguese is essential).
You have experience in IP matters and media regulation (feat. copyrights and trademarks) in regards with risk assessment in clearance procedures.
You have reasonable knowledge of the marketing and the entertainment industry business and economic dynamic in Brazil.
You are a self-starter, demonstrate great initiative and proactiveness and are able to navigate complex situations involving various internal and external partners with flexibility, business acumen, naturality and a focus on achieving great results and you are excited and inspired by the Netflix culture.
You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work proactively, independently, and collaboratively with various growing teams with courage, curiosity, and flexibility to adapt to different communication styles.
You have excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines with little to no supervision in a high-performance environment.
You have great judgement to proactively identify and seek relevant information cross-functionally and to assess risks and make smart decisions in the face of ambiguity.
You feel passionate about tackling matters outside your area of expertise and about solving problems in a solution-oriented manner.
