Role Description: The Global HR Risk & Controls Manager is responsible for supporting the leadership team of the business unit to identify, assess and mitigate legal, regulatory, operational and strategic risk thus developing a comprehensive view on the business units’ risk-taking activities. The role assists informed decision making by providing transparency into strategic and operational risk exposures while focusing on embedding risk processes within the day-to-day business operations. Successful risk management requires dynamic individuals who are able to liaise with various stakeholders and foster collaboration, integrate perspectives and drive to business beneficial outcomes. Collaborate with other teams and second and third lines of defense across Booking.com such as Risk, Controls, Fraud, Cyber Security, Privacy and Internal Audit, who will help them to learn, grow and provide them the freedom to experiment. Such is also part of the culture of Booking.com. Plays an active role in supporting the People Department as a risk advisor in driving ongoing improvement to global, regional, and local HR processes and experiences. Key Job Responsibilities and Duties: Manage a team to support People business units in all risk management activities and build strong relations with the Leadership Team, external business partners, and internal auditors. Define and implement the risk management framework for Booking.com to ensure robust risk management for positive business outcomes. Develop, coordinate, and implement the risk management plan for the business unit, and follow up on risks and actions identified in the annual Enterprise Risk Assessment. Provide guidance and support to the Control Operations team in designing and implementing appropriate controls to strengthen the control environment and mitigate company risks. Contribute to Booking.com’s growth through interviewing, onboarding, or other recruitment efforts, and provide training on risk processes to ensure an adequate risk culture and awareness. Drive formal risk assessments with HR stakeholders at global, regional, and local levels to identify, assess, and evaluate risks, and design and monitor a risk register to track HR compliance risks. Participate in the design, implementation, and monitoring of preventative and detective internal controls, consult on operational controls, and drive Internal Audit issue remediation. Qualifications & Skills: Leadership skills (previous experience of team management) 7+ years of experience gained within the realms of IT (Operational) Risk Management, Internal Controls or Compliance (in company, not just on a consulting basis) Practical IT / Business (integrated) SOx and GDPR frameworks/program experience (design, drive, manage, coordinate) Familiar with internal controls and IT control frameworks (COBIT, COSO, Information Security, Cybersecurity) Experience within large e-commerce or tech companies Workday, SAP, MySQL, Unix, Git, Security, Infra, Cyber exposure Familiar with Zendesk, ServiceNow, Google Suite, Jira is a plus Benefits & Perks - Global Impact, Personal Relevance: Booking.com’s Total Rewards Philosophy is not only about compensation but also about benefits.
