Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect in a cloud computing environment or a customer-facing role.
- Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
- Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments/roadmaps.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in enterprise technology buying and evaluation process as well as building, architecting, designing/implementing distributed global cloud-based systems.
- Experience in network infrastructure, security, and application development and understanding of large-scale computing solutions.
- Experience working with research organizations and understanding their specific needs and challenges.
- Deep understanding of HPC architectures/frameworks and experience working with and deploying GPU and TPU based solutions for AI/ML workloads.
- Proficiency in MLOps tools/platforms (e.g., Vertex AI, Kubeflow) and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Ability to deliver results, work cross-functionally, engage and influence audiences, and identify expansion opportunities.

As a Principal Architect, you will lead cross-functional teams of experts to help customers design, plan, implement, and govern enterprise cloud strategies. You will be a trusted advisor in the space of AI Infrastructure and will work closely with research organizations across education, healthcare and public sector.
In this role, you will embody executive-level qualities, facilitate the conversation, and direct the execution of the Sales team by combining both technical goal and business insight. You will partner heavily with Value Engineering to articulate the true total value of each technical solution and the overall business partnership with Google Cloud.

- Leverage industry and technical architecture expertise to solve customer problems by engaging early on with Chief Experience Officers (CXOs) to influence and shape outcomes by introducing disruptive value propositions.
- Ensure continuous buy-in and support for our identified initiatives throughout the lifecycle of the engagement in select and nominated accounts.
- Provide strategic thought leadership in alignment with the customer's key strategic initiatives and direction. Develop solutions that aim short and long-term goals and objectives.
- Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and effectively promote Google Cloud with customers as well as through conferences and online.
- Build a trusted advisory relationship with strategic accounts and engage with business C-suite, Architects and Engineering VPs to identify business priorities, technical objections, and design strategies encompassing the Google ecosystem.
