Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in either display optical design, display and system assembly/validation process development or display compensaiton algorithm development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD in Optical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience troubleshooting challenging issues and DOE planning.
  • Experience with manufacturing requirements for consumer products.
  • Experience with one of the focus areas of display technology: display optical design including test and validation, display and system assembly/validation process development, display compensation algorithm development.
  • Interest in building optical setups and making optical measurements.

Work with a multi-talented, fast-paced team taking cutting edge display technologies and turning them into reality on the Pixel products.

In this role, you will work with some of the world's best hardware engineers on multiple optical and electrical technologies to create and deploy technology capabilities beyond the current state of the art.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Design and ship first class display modules for Pixels.
  • Work with suppliers on design, troubleshooting and validation to ensure display meets design and system requirements. Manage and communicate design target/requirement with vendors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide design guidance, trade-offs, and solutions for system integration and validation.
  • Innovate and troubleshoot for challenging issues.
  • Perform risk assessment and evaluation planning with new technologies.
