Asset Manager

The role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Asset Manager to oversee the management of our Data Center IT infrastructure assets.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient utilization, tracking, and management of IT equipment to support operational excellence in the IT department.

You’re welcome to work in our office in Amsterdam (hybrid).

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Managing an inventory database for all IT assets, including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
• Conducting regular audits of physical and virtual assets to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Managing the entire lifecycle of IT assets from procurement through deployment, maintenance, and eventual disposal.
• Collaborating with vendors and procurement teams to evaluate asset needs and negotiate contracts.
• Managing the RMA process for servers, storage, networking equipment, and their components.
• Preparing regular reports on asset utilization, performance metrics, and financial analysis related to the IT infrastructure.
• Analyzing trends and providing recommendations for optimizing asset performance and reducing costs.
• Establishing and enforcing policies regarding asset management practices, including security, compliance, and risk management.
• Ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations concerning IT asset management.
• Working closely with IT departments, project managers, and other stakeholders to support projects and initiatives requiring asset allocation.
• Communicating asset status and potential issues to senior management and relevant teams.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements in asset tracking, reporting, and life cycle management.

We expect you to have: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in asset management, particularly within IT equipment assets.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components and asset management tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

It will be an added bonus if you have: 

• Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CMDB, or others related to asset management).
