The Opportunity: 

To drive growth within our Ocean Consolidation Services (OCS) products, we are looking for a Business Development Associate to own pricing and growth initiatives for our North America book of business. This role is critical in creating tailored pricing strategies, managing customer RFPs, and generating go-to-market strategies that drive profitability and scalability. By working closely with procurement and commercial teams, this position will ensure our pricing is market-competitive and value-representative. The ultimate goal is to deliver globally optimized results for the OCS P&L and support our overall growth objectives.

You will:

  • Rapidly learn and pitch Flexport OCS (LCL and Buyers Consolidation) products and value propositions
  • Own pricing and commercial support for customers with monthly recurring rate refreshes
  • Create customer RFP responses by collecting rate data on Flexport consol and coloader lanes and updating customer rate sheets for all port pairs requested
  • Join customer calls and support account executives in selling LCL and Buyers Consolidation services
  • Execute with extremely high attention to detail and mathematical skill, ensuring no mistakes are made on customer pricing
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on RFP statuses and pipeline data
  • Support strategic projects to drive new business and existing client growth

You should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in pricing, sales, logistics, or quantitative roles.
  • Strong analytical skills and next-level attention to detail, while still maintaining a macro perspective
  • A proactive approach with a focus on delivering accurate results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in building relationships and fostering trust.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments while maintaining a strong sense of accountability.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • High integrity and alignment with company values, demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the posting's respective region. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training. 
The US base salary range for this position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.)
$72,000$91,000 USD
